Out of the two weeks that we've been back in Lebanon since winter break, it's rained each day except for two. There are lots of reasons to love the winter weather here in Lebanon. Rain means water, which we could always use more of in the Middle East. It also means snow, which adds to Lebanon's tourism industry.
But the rain here is also beautiful -- big epic storms blow in from the Mediterranean followed by a burst of sunlight and then more rain.
The storms clear out Beirut's smog, providing great opportunities to take Jane for a stroll on the Corniche and enjoy the city skyline. So our January has been spent taking advantage of the momentary breaks in the rain.

I love that you were reading Me... Jane to her! We read that for our Caldecott unit a few weeks ago and were so excited when it was a Honor Book this morning! Love it!
