Apocalypse Now?

Today, May 21, is the beginning of the end of the world. Or at least that's what we heard through our main source of news, NPR podcasts.

NPR has done a few stories about a group of evangelical Christians who have predicted that Christ's second coming will be today. People are so dedicated to the idea that they have sold off all of their assets. The New York Times also has several articles on the alleged judgement day.

After reading about all of these stories of American apocalyptic thinkers, you can imagine how excited we were to see this billboard right in the middle of our neighborhood, Hamra. The interesting thing is that Hamra is not a traditional Christian neighborhood; those are on the East side of town.

So you've got to hand it to Family Radio, the group that has predicted judgment day. They have really covered their bases, even paying for ads way over here in the Middle East.
