One of Wade's responsibilities at ACS is to serve as a faculty sponsor for the Model UN activity (MUN). Helping to coordinate an activity like MUN gains an interesting aspect at a school like ACS, where the students have incredibly diverse backgrounds. This year, his chaperoning responsibilities led to a long weekend trip to Cairo with 6 ACS students for an MUN gathering at the main international school there.

Wade and the ACS MUN student representatives. Megan is really jealous that she couldn't tag along on this trip, but Wade keeps reminding her about that "summer in Uganda" fun she had 2 years ago.
To beat the "Wade is visiting the Pyramids and the Sphinx and I'm left in smoggy Beirut" blues, Megan headed way up to Hermel and the mountains in northern Lebanon with colleagues to spend the night at a rustic ecolodge. Hermel's very own ancient pyramid helped to ease her jealousy.

Hermel's pyramid is only 2000 years old - about half the age of the pyramids in Giza - and it's really more of an obelisk than a pyramid. Megan and her travel partners arrived just as the sun was setting.

Yes, the rental car for the weekend was indeed a minivan. Family fun time memories!

The view in the morning from the ecolodge, up in the mountains and in the middle of nowhere.

An impromptu hiking stop in the mountains on the drive back to Beirut.
